Cookie Policy
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files saved by your web browser on your device when you visit a website. They are used to recognise you on subsequent visits, remember your preferences and collect analytics data about how the website is used.
This policy applies only to the klaavi.app website. The Klaavi desktop application (the Windows installer) does not use cookies. It stores data exclusively on your device.
2. Which cookies we use
The most important point: the Klaavi application sends no data anywhere. The prediction engine runs entirely on your computer. What you type never leaves your device. This rule has no exceptions and never will.
This website is a different matter. Like any marketing website, it uses advertising cookies from Meta and Google, but only if you consent to them. Declining restricts nothing: not access to content, not the mailing list signup, not the application download.
We do not sell your data. We do not share it with data brokers. We use these tools to reach the people who need Klaavi, and for nothing else.

3. Details of individual tools
Cloudflare
Cloudflare provides the network infrastructure for klaavi.app (CDN, DDoS protection, SSL). Cloudflare cookies (including __cf_bm and cf_clearance) are necessary for the secure operation of the website and do not require consent. They are not used for advertising or cross-site tracking. More information: cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
Plausible Analytics
Plausible is a privacy-friendly analytics tool that does not use cookies and does not collect personal data. The data is fully anonymous and cannot be used to identify an individual user. Using Plausible does not require consent under the GDPR or the ePrivacy Directive. More information: plausible.io/privacy.
Google Analytics 4
GA4 collects pseudonymised data about user behaviour on the website: pages visited, time spent on the site, traffic sources and events (for example clicks on call-to-action buttons). GA4 uses cookies (_ga, _ga_*) tied to a pseudonymised device identifier. This data is not anonymous within the meaning of the GDPR and requires consent. Klaavi configures GA4 without advertising personalisation. GA4 is not activated until you give consent. More information: policies.google.com/privacy.
Meta Pixel (Facebook, Instagram)
The Meta Pixel is a piece of code that records a visit to klaavi.app and passes it to Meta Platforms Ireland Limited. It allows us to measure how many people reached the website from our advertisements and posts, and to build audiences to whom we can show Klaavi advertising.
The pixel writes the cookies _fbp and _fbc, tied to a pseudonymised identifier. Meta may link this data to your Facebook or Instagram account if you have one.
The pixel is inactive by default. Until you give consent, it sends no data to Meta. Technically this is implemented by issuing fbq('consent', 'revoke') before the pixel is initialised.
Meta also processes this data for its own purposes as an independent controller. Details: facebook.com/privacy/policy.
Google Ads
The Google Ads tag measures conversions originating from Google Search advertising, allowing us to determine whether a person who clicked a Klaavi advertisement signed up for the list or downloaded the application. It writes the cookie _gcl_au.
We use Google Consent Mode v2: until you give consent, the parameters ad_storage, ad_user_data, ad_personalization and analytics_storage are set to denied, and the tag writes no cookies and transmits no data.
Details: policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
Brevo
Brevo handles our mailing list and transactional email. Where a Brevo signup form is embedded on a page, Brevo may write functional cookies necessary for the form to work. More information: brevo.com/legal/privacypolicy.
4. Managing your consent and settings
On your first visit to klaavi.app, a cookie banner is displayed allowing you to give or refuse consent to analytics cookies (Google Analytics 4) and advertising cookies (Meta Pixel, Google Ads). Until you give consent, none of these tools is activated and none of them writes cookies.
The banner contains two equally prominent buttons: "Accept" and "Necessary only". Refusing is exactly as easy as accepting and does not restrict access to any part of the website or to the application download.
Your choice is remembered and you may change it at any time by clicking "Cookie settings" in the website footer.
Cloudflare cookies (technically necessary) and Plausible (cookieless) operate independently of the banner because they do not require consent.
Independently of the banner, you can manage cookies directly in your browser settings:
- Chrome: Settings > Privacy and security > Third-party cookies
- Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data
- Edge: Settings > Cookies and site permissions
- Safari: Settings > Safari > Privacy & Security
Blocking all cookies may affect the operation of some website features, but it will not restrict access to content or your ability to download the Klaavi application.
5. The Klaavi desktop application
The Klaavi application (the .exe installer for Windows) does not use cookies. All application data, including prediction personalisation, the phrase panel and usage statistics, is stored exclusively on your device and is not transmitted to any external server.
The application connects to the internet only to verify your licence on activation and to synchronise account settings (where that feature is active). These connections do not use cookies.
There is no Meta Pixel, no Google tag and no third-party telemetry of any kind in the Klaavi application, and there never will be. The advertising tools described in this policy apply exclusively to the klaavi.app website. The application communicates with our server and with no one else.
6. Changes to this cookie policy
We reserve the right to update this policy if the tools we use or the applicable law change. We will inform you of material changes by a notice on the website or by email (if you are a user with an active account). The date of the last update appears at the top of this document.
